Ben Affleck schreckt mich ja eigentlich eher ab, aber Jodie Comer und Adam Driver. Außerdem finde ich das Thema, wem man nun glauben sollte und die Anmerkung, dass die Wahrheit eigentlich wurscht ist, ziemlich interessant und für unsere Zeit absolut passend

Auch hierauf freue ich mich sehr. Mit David Tennant als typischer Brite Mr. Foog, dafür ist Passepartout ein PoC und Fix ist ne Frau – die Welt wird untergehen 😉
Unkraut vergeht nicht....oder doch?

Macbeth sieht gut aus. The Last Duel sieht auch gut aus aber so Dreiecksgeschichten sind nicht ganz mein Ding, mal sehen.

So I saw „The Last Duel.“ Comer is the best thing about it. (Incidentally, don’t know if you remember Mark Atkin from his RA / Thorin stunt double days, but he was apparently in this, too.) I thought most of the rest of the performances were camp-y and I didn’t care at all for the script. It seems to be getting average reviews which I wouldn’t disagree with.

@Servetus: What a pity! But that’s what I feared with Affleck in the cast (can’t stand the guy).
I actually do and I still follow him on Instagram. Will have to look out for him if I ever get around to watch this.

One of my medievalist friends told me the book is excellent, so I will probably check that out.
Affleck: I haven’t seen many recent films of his. I think the script really served everyone in this film poorly, though. The writers were clearly going for a sort of pared down aesthetic that made most of the actors seem a bit silly.
Atkin: I saw a post of his on FB. imdb lists him as „English soldier,“ so he must be in one of the earliest scenes (which I guess were filmed in Ireland). I wouldn’t have known without his FB post.

@Servetus: Didn’t know there was also a book, but good to know.
I think the last thing I saw with him was ‚Gone Girl‘ and I can’t remember when I saw one of his movies and thought he did good.
I read on Instagram a while back that he filmed in Ireland. I think there was no mention of what he was filming but it would fit.
