I have had the fourth book from the library twice now and never get a chance to read it before it has to go back. But the first chapter was really good! I think a lot of authors who had books come out this year are suffering (unless their book is really topical). No one has any attention span at the moment.

@Servetus: I would read it in englisch if I knew that there won’t be a translated version. But I had to switch between languages in a book series, not good for my brain.

My impression is that the fourth book is often a turning point — that there are often three-book deals and then they wait to see how the fourth one actually does. And this book just disappeared in the flood of things that appeared this spring and everyone ignored. But I am also hoping that it’s a temporary state of affairs.

@Servetus: Your word in the publishers ear 🙂 If there won’t be a german translation I might look into the english audibook and listen to it insteed of reading myself.

Just saw that there’s a fifth Mukherjee out there (in this series — it turns out he’s been publishing other novels not in this series with different presses).

@Servetus: Ah thank you. That’s great! And I definitely will have to check out his other work.
