The Father
Ich will unbedingt wissen, was da am Ende bei rauskommt.
Mit Anthony Hopkins, Olivia Colman, Rufus Sewell, Mark Gatiss, u. a.
The Secrets We Keep
The Racer
The Trial of the Chicago 7
Star Trek Discovery, Staffel 3
Ich freu mich drauf

Honour
@Supernova und The Father: Wow!

I’m going to watch the Chicago 7 one. I saw an ad today for a Netflix piece on the Rohwedder assassination that looked interested, too.

@AequitasEtVeritas: Oder?

@Servetus: Haven’t seen anything for the Rohwedder docu but I will watch it in any case. My mother still talks often about RAF, their acts of terror and the impact that was palpable in our part of the woods.

The English title is „The Perfect Crime.“

@Servetus: It somehow was, even if the murderer(s) had a lot of help (indirectly) from German authorities by ignoring accumulated threads against his life 😦

I guess one of the the things the series does is look at explanations other than the RAF (the review I read was a bit critical of this approach, and I tend to agree with the reviewer). But I wonder how much is going to come to light as the years pass about a lot of things that seem sketchy. I just saw that Schloß Freudenstein got its historic paintings back (that were stolen in 1979), and if that isn’t a story that stinks to high heaven … ?

@Servetus: Hadn’t his wife suspected that the Stasi was involved somehow? I think the same assumptions were made around the murder of Herrhausen in 1989 from some people.
I haven’t watched it yet but I sure will over the weekend.
Jup. Maybe the exibition that is (or was) planned for 2021 will shed some light on what happened.

It didn’t help after 1989 when several RAF members turned out to have been helped to new identities in the GDR.
I worked in the library there in the summer of 2003. So much was stolen after WWII, as well, and only some of it came back. It’s really to be hoped that they can succeed in putting their hands on all the stuff that they have a clear title to.

@Servetus: That’s true. There is one woman in particular who speaks in several docus about the RAF and lived a new life in the GDR who get to me every time I watch something she is in (short hair, don’t know her name).
Thankfully provenance research got more important over the last few years. Hopefully more stuff will go back to the rightful owners. It doesn’t help with theft from private persons of course.

@Servetus: her name is Silke Maier-Witt, found her in the Rohwedder documentation right now…
