Her mit Euren Tipps!
Everyone I know is watching „Indian Matchmaking“ on Netflix, but it’s not a drama / fictional. Haven’t seen it yet myself.
I just had to make an hourlong presentation for one of my classes on covid-19 responses at various US governmental levels, and I’m a mixture of exhausted and outraged. I saw a Trump / Pence sign on the way to my office today and I wanted to drive up on the curb and run it over with my car.

@Servetus: Doesn’t seem to be my normal stuff but will check it out thanks!
Wouldn’t blame you if you did to be honest. I feel angry after seeing his last press conference stunt, reading Mary Trumps book and watching a docu about radical evangelical christians in the US yesterday. Boy are these people spooky! And I am not even a US citizien.

Hallo cRuEllY!

) Ich Depp hab „No Time To Die“ vergessen.

@mwj: Kann passieren.

I have heard good things about „Mrs. America“ (with Cate Blanchett), which is on Hulu in the US and the Snowpiercer series (on Netflix), but the only TV I have watched recently is Deep Space 9 and Family Feud.
I read Mary Trump’s book and was relatively impressed. (Did I say this here already?) I was expected a gossipy screed and got some serious analysis from someone with both expertise and data.
re: evangelicals — Jerry Falwell Jr stepped back from Liberty University this weekend, so they were heavily in the news here. It’s hard to explain briefly if you’re not an American — but I think their behavior since 2016 has surprised even us!

@Servetus: Ah ‚Mrs. America‘ is already on my to-watch-list. Thanks for the reminder.
No, you haven’t, but yes, I liked it too. She has some really nasty relatives and writing this book must have taken a bit of courage.
Armed pastors who go on patrol with the police and lecture people during a random control. A big model of Noahs arc, made up like Disney World for Christians to push the believe in creationism. Christians with automatic weapons who train for house to house fighting as a militia…..this was really shocking and half of the time I didn’t know if to laugh or cry.

Gute Fantasy muss man schon bisschen suchen. Da wäre natürlich Steampunk eine Empfehlung wert: His dark Materials.

Herba #1 yes I’m with you at least as far as Bond/Craig concerned
I hope wearing a mask isn’t past the moment certainly not in America
Hard to have any hope these days when El Presidente refuses to wear a mask
Mrs America is on my watchlist too
Bless Sam 🤗❤️❤️

@Michele: We still have to wear masks where it isn’t possible to keep the distance and I don’t think that will change anytime soon.

Herba I’m glad people are complying in your neck of the woods
Here things are cringe worthy
I wear a mask all day at work and running errands but I see plenty of
people with no masks on although now mandatory in my grocery store finally!!
Agree not going away soon

@Michele: Not all do, but these are the rules and more and more cities finally force people to comply.

Well it’s for our protection as well as theirs. I failed to understand why some people don’t get it and think they are exempt from rules

@Michele: I don’t get it either but I am glad there are controlls now.

I think those are the fringes of the evangelical Christian movement. But yes, they do exist. I find the normal manifestations just as / more disturbing.
