Ich habe schon ewig keinen Trailerpost mehr veröffentlicht, also wurde es mal wieder Zeit und der neueste Film von Iain Glen liefert dafür einen wunderbaren Vorwand.
Falls ihr einen Trailer habt, den man gesehen haben sollte, bitte unbedingt in den Kommentaren teilen, bin doch ein neugieriges Kerlchen!
The Flood – ein Film über eine Sozialarbeiterin, die über das Schicksal von Flüchtlingen entscheiden muss.
Das sieht ganz schön intensiv aus und ich bin gespannt drauf!
Late Night – eine Dramedy mit Mindy Kaling und Emma Thompson.
Könnte gut werden, muss aber nicht.
Once upon a time in Hollywood – die Mischung aus Brad Pitt und Leonardo Dicaprio sieht schon interessant aus, aber der Twist mit Manson schreckt mich ein wenig ab.
The Current War – mit Benedict Cumberbatch und Michael Shannon in den Hauptrollen ist das für mich fast ein Muss.
Angel has fallen – Gerard Butler rettet mal wieder die Welt im dritten Teil der Fallen-Reihe.
Den Film braucht man vermutlich so nötig wie einen Gipsfuss, aber vielleicht macht er ja auf Popcornkinoebene trotzdem Spaß
Good Omens – mit David Tennant, Michael Sheen und noch vielen anderen tollen Schauspielern.
Wenn die Macher die gute Buchvorlage vermurksen, ist ihnen nicht mehr zu helfen.
Prodigal Son – Crimeserie nach Schema F und vermutlich so ähnlich schon 100 Mal gesehen. Aber da Michael Sheen mitspielt, werde ich sicher mal nen Blick riskieren, falls sich die Gelegenheit ergibt.
Seit seiner Rolle in ‚The Good Fight‘ bin ich nämlich echt ein Fan von ihm, weil ich seine Stimme und den irren Blick einfach zum Kreischen finde 🙂

Late Night: that will definitely come here and I will go to see it b/c of Thompson and Kaling.
Once Upon a Time: ….. …… …….. I have never actually made it through more than a half hour of a Tarantino film. And he was such an *ss when interviewed about the film in Cannes. I don’t know if it will be shown here.
I thought about writing a post like this but I have found so few of the trailers I’ve seen recently in any way attractive („My Spy,“ „Stuber,“ „Booksmart,“ all turnoffs). „The Farewell“ (Awkwafina’s new film) was the only one that made me definitely want to see it. „Shaft“ and „Gemini Man“ are possibles.

@Servetus: If the trailer for ‚Late Night‘ is a good indication this will be a great and funny movie.
I only saw ‚Inglourious Basterds‘ and ‚Django Unchained‘ but I am not a big fan of him either.
It’s really not that much out there at the moment that seems really watchable or interesting – first signs of ‚Sommerloch‘ in the movie world?

Ups, was ist hier passiert. War noch gar nicht fertig 🙂 .
Also, Filme, die in den Siebzigern spielen, sind für mich generell interessant, aber auch das Hollywood dieser Zeit finde ich als Setting ganz spannend. Der Trailer sieht schon mal gut aus, ich warte mal ab.
Schade, dass Gerald Butler mittlerweile so aufs Action-Genre festgelegt ist. Eigentlich hätte er mehr drauf.

This has been a really bad film year so far IMO. I just looked at my purchase history (I get discounts from the local cinema chain and from an Internet ticket outlet, so I have a complete record of where I’ve been recently, lol) and I’ve only been to three „wide release“ movies all year. My impression is that the local cinema chain is going to an „event“ model — they only want to show things that will either fill their seats for weeks (superhero, blockbuster, etc.) or if the audience is going to be smaller, that they can take more money for (NT Live, opera or ballet transmissions, or things with value added like the Tolkien premiere with the Q&A with the actors, so that the tickets cost at least $15). So a ton of „everyday“ films that have been in wide release and I’d really like to see mostly haven’t come here.

@Bette: Ich fand die Idee als Hommage an das goldene Hollywood auch gut, aber mich schreckt wie gesagt das Mitwirken von Manson ab. Aber mal schauen, wie das so wird.
Ja, dass Butler so auf Action festgelegt ist, finde ich auch schade. Ich mochte zum Beispiel seinen Film mit Katherine Heigl sehr gern, das hat er echt gut gemacht. Auch wenn natürlich auch das nicht die große Filmkunst war 🙂

Ja, ich weiß auch nicht, wie das werden wird. Vielleicht braucht Tarantino immer eine Möglichkeit, das Blut spritzen zu lassen…
Ich mochte Butler in Dear Frankie sehr. Da war er auch noch kein Muskelpaket.

Herba, thank you for these trailers „coming attractions“ I like almost all of the ones you have listed except the Fallen one and Tarantino one for different reasons. The first one sounds very intriguing. Very few films get me to the cinema so realistically for me all of these I will wait to view at home in some capacity.

Herba, I hope it pops up on PPV b/c many indy films pop up there and I can view them. These are the kind of stories that interests me over that „Fallen“ series.

I am like the worst sucker — the cinema chain offered me triple rewards points for an opportunity to see Late Night this Wednesday, ahead of the usual release. Plus I’ll get $2.50 back off the ticket price from the ticket outlet. Could not resist. LOL.

There was also a live Q & A with Mindy Kaling which was really interesting.
I liked it a LOT, although it wasn’t entirely what I was expecting. I thought it was going to be a comedy about late night television, but it was a comedy / satire about how late night television is written — smart and oddly profound at moments. I would see it again. However, as usual, no reason you couldn’t watch it at home. I wish there were more films like this.
